APHA Annual Meeting & Expo
In November 2019, the EOHS faculty members, along with other SPH faculty and students, presented posters and conducted Learning Institute workshops at the prestigious American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo held in Philadelphia.

EOHS Department Chair and Associate Professor, Laura Geer, PhD, MHS, presented a poster entitled, “Risk Factors for Prenatal Zika Virus Screening in an Urban Immigrant Cohort in Brooklyn, NY.”

Associate Professor, Paul Landsbergis, PhD, MPH, EdD, presented a newly developed, evidence-based risk assessment for work organization hazards in a poster presentation entitled, “Creating a New Instrument for WorkOrganization Risk Assessment in the United States: The Healthy Work Survey (HWS) Project.”

In addition, Assistant Professor, Lori Hoepner, DrPH, MPH, led a sold out APHA Learning Institute session entitled, “Public Health Big Data and Data Management for Beginners.” Asad Massan, EOHS DrPH Student was a teaching assistant for the Learning Institute. Dr. Hoepner also gave an oral presentation on the “Prenatal Bisphenol A Exposure in a Brooklyn Maternity Study”, which was co- authored with Dr. Geer.
ISEE 28th Annual Conference - Rome, Italy



In September 2016, the EOHS faculty members, presented at the esteemed International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) Annual Conference held in Rome, Italy.
EOHS Department Chair and Associate Professor, Laura Geer, PhD, MHS, presented a poster entitled, “Association of Birth Outcomes with Fetal Exposure to Parabens, Triclosan, and Triclocarban in an Urban Immigrant Population.”
EOHS Assistant Professor, Lori Hoepner, DrPH, MPH co- chaired the session “Earth, Wind and Fire: Environmental Factors Related to Active Travel”.
