SUNY Downstate Appoints Camille Grizzle-Murriel as the Administrator of Transplant Services Program

Brooklyn, N.Y. (May 21, 2020) - Camille Grizzle-Murriel, B.A., MSc, was appointed as Administrator of Transplant Services Program for the Department
of Surgery at SUNY Downstate's University Hospital of Brooklyn (UHB). University Hospital of Brooklyn Interim CEO Patricia Winston, MS, R.N., NEA-BC, FACHE made the announcement recently.
Ms. Grizzle-Murriel joined SUNY Downstate from New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where
she served in multiple administrative roles supporting transplant services for nearly
two decades, and most recently as Operations Manager for the New York Presbyterian's
Lung Transplant Program. In that role, she has successfully increased the referral
volume in the Lung Transplant Program, leading the highest volume of Lung transplants
in CY2019 since the inception of the program.
In her new role at UHB, Ms. Grizzle-Murriel is responsible for overseeing and managing
the transplant program working with regulatory bodies, and a team of physicians, nurses,
coordinators, social workers, dietitians, and clerical staff to meet the needs of
this exceptional group of patients.
"We are excited that Ms. Grizzle-Murriel has joined SUNY Downstate to lead our transplant services program," said Ms. Winston. "Her significant experience in transplant program administration will be critical as we resume our transplant services following our response to the COVID-19 pandemic."
Ms. Grizzle-Murriel holds both a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and an M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Concordia College of New York. She will receive her Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University next month. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Healthcare Management at Concordia College in New York.
